Webbing made from high-performance fibers
High-performance fibers are enabling new applications for webbing. One example is high-modulus polyethylene fibers (HMPE fibers), which achieve high strength and low elongation values at low weight.
These webbings are an excellent alternative to steel cables and chains. HMPE fibers are also used in boating because, among other things, they float in water due to their low density.
Many other properties (good resistance to alkalis, acids, UV rays and abrasion) offer very good combination possibilities with other fibers, such as polyester or polypropylene.
