Smart textiles combine the qualities of textiles with intelligent and innovative technologies that open up new opportunities in safety, comfort, and smart products. This technology can also be integrated into textile belt straps to create “intelligent belt straps” for certain applications.
Smart textiles can:
- communicate
- register and forward / transmit vital signs
- light up
- heat / cool
- react to temperature fluctuations
- stimulate
- display information about force, pressure, humidity …
- transmit a constant status report to security systems
- vibrate (discreet notification to a driver)
- house integrated switches (pressure, capacitive)
“Intelligent belt straps” can be used for a wide range of applications. To name some examples, they can offer protection against theft and vandalism, or even give off signals in the event of accidental damage. If the belt strap is severed, for example, an alarm is triggered.
